Well, I have to say…the past couple of weeks were emotional ones. We lost two of our coworkers at the library quite suddenly, and it made me want to squeeze all of my loved ones just a little bit tighter. Sometimes I forget how fragile life can be. I encourage all of you to let your friends and family know how much you love them. It’s easy to assume that they know, but they don’t always know! They need to hear it.
The good news is…I’m going to be an aunt! I couldn’t be more excited! I did become an aunt when my brother got married, but this will be my brother’s first child. Whoop whoop!
I spent my Memorial Day weekend up north with my family. My Dad, aunt, and cousins all took the ferry to one of my favorite spots: South Manitou Island. Here are a few photos from the trip. Enjoy!
I got to smell lilacs all over again! It was absolute heaven.
Florence Lake (we all wanted to jump in it…that is, until we spotted a leech)
The Shipwreck of Morazan (Nov. 27, 1960)
Valley of the Giants (I can see all of you Californians smirking)
The island is home to some of the largest White Cedars in Michigan. Each tree was so unique!
Ahh, it was so nice to be completely surrounded by nature again.
